Meet Our Team
Back in 2015, I didn’t set out to build a community — I just wanted to help my friends and family find freelance work. At the time, I kept meeting so many talented people in the Philippines — writers, designers, developers — who only needed the right connections to get started.
So I began sharing freelance opportunities on Facebook. What started as a few posts for friends soon turned into a small circle of freelancers supporting each other, sharing tips, and celebrating wins.
As time went on, that small circle grew. Eventually, I decided to take things to the next level by creating a Slack community — a dedicated space where Filipino freelancers could collaborate, learn, and grow together.
In 2024, I took the next step and officially launched IreneChan.co. What began as a small passion project has now become a thriving team of 24 freelancers working with 9 clients from around the world.
Today, our Slack community has grown to more than 300 members — a mix of seasoned professionals and newcomers. Most of us are from the Philippines, but our community has expanded to Spain, Ukraine, and Kenya.
