Irene Chan: Freelancer to Founder
For the past decade, my mission has been to help early-stage startups acquire new customers through organic marketing like social media, community building, and SEO. One way I could do this was to hire trusted and talented freelancers in the Philippines. But things changed forever when AI came into the picture.
In June 2021, when I transitioned to a full-time freelance writer, I started using Jasper, an AI that helped me write blog posts. I reduced the blog production time from 6 to 2 hours and tripled my revenue.
Amazed by my results, I hosted workshops to teach early-stage marketing teams and other freelance writers how to start using AI to scale their content production. After hosting dozens of workshops, I was invited to teach B2B marketers how to use AI for marketing in Texas in March 2023.
Since 2021, I have built a community of hundreds of contractors from the Philippines, Spain, and Ukraine who use AI ethically and efficiently. In January 2024, I started my company to continue my mission of helping early-stage startup founders find the right team to leverage AI.
Career and Company Timeline
As someone who grew up in the Philippines, it was my family’s dream for me to work in the US as a computer programmer. But I sucked at math big time. I changed my major to Broadcast Communication five minutes before college registration.
It started a series of off-the-beaten-path choices that ultimately allowed me to work in the Philippines and earn in USD without missing any of my kids’ milestones. Here’s a summary of my career that eventually lead to founding my own company:
- 2010: Quit the call center industry and worked as an SEO virtual assistant
- 2014: Became an SEO writer writing more than 200 articles and started managing social media
- 2015: Became the Head of Marketing at Veems, an Israeli startup, and ended up living in Israel for a few months
- 2017: Worked at BeLive for 4 years as Marketing Manager, building remote-first teams in the Philippines and Ukraine.
- 2021: Worked as a freelance writer and project manager with companies like Paperbell and Uscreen and started using AI
- 2023: Featured in different publications and international workshops as an AI expert in content production
- 2024: Founded my own company with the mission to continue serving early-stage startups and the freelancing community

Our team is made up of content managers, HR specialists, SEO analysts, writers, and designers from around the world. We’re all contractors who excel in our own fields and love to have fun together (even if we’re working remotely). Some of our team members are homeschooling mamas who run their own businesses, while others are full-time students or employees who have side gigs.
